Our Core Team

Matt is the founder of Buzzers Academies and has been an active part of the team since 2010. His passion and enthusiasm for Buzzers is what dives the brand forward to bigger and better things. Matt is involved in every aspect of Buzzers provision, taking great pride and care in the brand and it's positive representation.

Matt played a high standard of cricket at both junior and senior level, having represented both Kent & Derbyshire.

​

Matt is a qualified coach in Cricket, Mini & Tag Rugby, Athletics, Boccia, Sitting Volleyball and Handball, as well as being trained in Diabetes Management and Childhood Weight Management. Matt holds a Level 5 Primary School Physical Education Specialism qualification. He also has a background in working with children and young people with SEND; a passion which came from teaching PE at Bethlem & Maudsley Hospital School for 3 years.

Sally joined Buzzers Academies in 2025 after 11 year career working for Macmillan Cancer Support and playing a active role in the management and planning of national events. Prior to this, Sally worked for England Netball working closely in the community as a Development Officer.

Sally is the driving force behind all CIC initiatives. She is also responsible for all company HR procceses and manages our marketing and social media accounts.

​

Sally studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Portsmouth and had over 25 years experience of playing and coaching sport. Sally holds a number of sporting achievements including playing for the Netball Super League. Sally is a Level 2 qualified Netball coach along with holding coaching awards in Basketball, Football, Gymnastics, Cheerleading  and Fencing. 

Ashleigh is our longest standing member of the coaching team, having joined us back in 2012. Ashleigh has coaching qualifications in Football and Multi-Skills Development in Sport as well as being a qualified Personal Trainer.

In recent years, Ashleigh has specialised in working with children with SEND and those with EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan). Ashleigh has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the Education sector and is a huge asset to Buzzers.

​

Ashleigh is our Senior Operations Manager and plays a pivotal leadership role within The Buzzers Group, ensuring the smooth, efficient and high‑quality delivery of all operational activity across the organisation.

Tamzin joined Buzzers Academies in 2025 as a Lead Coach, bringing her fantastic cheerleading background from CLA and an energy that instantly lifted every session she delivered. Alongside coaching, Tamzin has been completing her Master’s degree, balancing academic excellence with her passion for working with children and delivering high‑quality activity sessions.

In 2026, Tamzin stepped into a new chapter with us, joining the office team where she now supports the operational side of the company. Her organisation, positivity and commitment have quickly made her a valued member of our Operations Team, contributing to the smooth running of our programmes across all sites.

Wendi Walker is one of our brilliant Operations Coordinators, and you’ll often see her supporting children and staff across our wrap‑around care sites.

Wendi brings a fantastic blend of creativity and sporting knowledge to Buzzers Academies. As a Level 1 Cricket Coach, she loves getting children active, confident and engaged through fun, inclusive activities. She’s also known for her creative flair,  always finding new ways to help children express themselves, try something different and enjoy their time with us.

​

Wendi’s positivity, reliability and passion for working with young people make her a hugely valued part of our Operations Team.

Nathan joined the team in 2014. He has an extensive list of coaching qualifications including; Level 1 Parkour, Level 2 Fitness Trainer, Level 2 Gymnastics, Level 2 BMABA (Martial Arts and British Association) Instructor. He is also a 6th Dan in Taekwondo. ​

Nathan's vast amount of sporting achievements include; Boxing (2-0) former Junior British, European and World Open Taekwondo Champion, 2010 ISDO European Silver medallist. He was also the youngest British 6th Dan ever. Nathan is one of our most experienced and highly qualified members of the team and his professional approach to work makes him the ideal role-model for staff.

Jakub joined Buzzers Academies team in 2022 on a Trainee Programme. He completed the programme in just seven months and now is a PE Lead in Schools full-time with the company.

Jakub has coached Football both in schools and for clubs since 2019. He has a Level 1 coaching qualification in Football and Athletics. 

​

Outside of work, Jakub has a huge passion for fitness and it currently working towards his Personal Trainer qualification. 

James joined Buzzers Academies team in 2023. He had a BA hons degree in Physical Education & Sport and currently works full-time teaching PE in a Bromley borough Primary School. He is one of our Senior Coaches and one of the reliable, hard-working, dedicated member of the Buzzers Team.

James is a avid Hockey player and coach, whilst also competing in Muay Thai. We are lucky to have James on our team each half-term and school holiday, and his passion and dedication to the company's ethos and working standards is evident in every day that he works at our camps. 

Josh is one of our senior members of staff and joined the team in 2021. He is a qualified PE teacher, holding both QTS and PGCE certificates.

Josh has a wealth of experience in coaching, spending eight years working within various Harris Federation schools, in both Primary and Secondary settings. Josh is a qualified  Football and Aquatics coach.
