Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement

Our social purpose is to create change in local communities by providing an inclusive environment for all ages to explore a variety of sports and physical activities, developing confidence, physical health, and social interaction skills along the way.

Buzzers Community CIC activities will support and nurture children, young people and adults during term-time and school holidays. The main aims of the CIC will be to source and secure funds for school and community projects through external organisations. Our key focus is to sustain existing Physical Education and Sports provision both within schools and the community, and to expand this delivery alongside new schools and community partners. We also aim to increase our delivery for all ages within parts of Kent, in partnership with Kent County Council, focusing on being a delivery partner within the new Family/Youth Hubs provision/structure.

We aim to make sport and physical activity accessible to all, with a focus on inclusion and social development.

Our Projects

HAF PROGRAMME

We have successfully run the HAF programme since Christmas 2023, with over 500 different children attending our centre so far.

The Buzzers HAF Programme is part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) initiative, a fully funded programme by the Department for Education. It takes place during the Easter, Summer, and Christmas school holidays at Swanley Family Hub.

Children aged 4 to 16 years can enjoy a wide variety of activities, including Sports and Arts & Crafts. Each day also includes a hot nutritious meal. Our focus is on ensuring children are kept active, engaged, and well-supported throughout the programme.

Our Approach:

  • Our qualified coaches deliver sessions with expertise, encouragement, and a focus on supportive learning.

  • We create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children can try new sports and activities, build confidence, and make new friends.

  • We are committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). For those requiring additional support, we also provide 1:1 assistance, guided by the child’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).

Our current HAF venues:

  • Orion Eden Park Secondary School - Eden Park (London Borough of Bromley)

  • Swanley Family Hub - Swanley (Kent County Council)

  • The Brent Primary School - Dartford (Kent County Council)
